What a wonderful day! This morning after breakfast, the team was able to travel into Antigua for a short bout of sight seeing and shopping. The city center was spectacular with a church built in 1669, a fountain, and a view of a dormant volcano. Lunch was also in the city on a rooftop with a view.

When we returned to Village of Hope, we divided and conquered! Suzie taught infant massage to mom’s with infants as a way for them to bond. Bessie and Amy ran a music therapy group with four four-year-girls as a way to model and explain music therapy to some of the staff at VOH. Andrea and Michaell met with a psychologist to talk about sensory needs and strategies/implementation. Chase build the remaining bath chairs and Tina and Marianne observed the students in the elementary classroom in hopes of assisting the teacher in managing some behaviors. Noelia has been working diligently to translate an assessment protocol into Spanish for the psychologists.

The afternoon play time slot lead Bessie and Amy to run a one-on-one music therapy session with a little guy (almost 2) who is showing a good number of developmental delays. Marianne, Chase and Suzie played games inside (it was raining today) helping some kiddos to follow directions and others to engage in some physical activity. Tina worked on creating some materials for the classroom teacher and our lovely translators have been working all afternoon/evening on the assessment protocols. We’ve got a plan for tomorrow and are looking forward to getting into it!
